Get Ready for Your Chimney Appointment

Now that the warmer weather of spring has finally arrived in the Hudson Valley region, it is time to close out your fireplace. Although it may seem like a lot of work, all you really need to do is simply give the team at All Seasons Chimney a call. For over 25 years, we have been taking care of chimneys with excellent and professional chimney maintenance, repair, and installation services.

Our sweeps have all received certifications from industry leaders such as the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). You can rest easy knowing that your chimney is in good hands. While we are good at sweeping and inspecting your chimney, we do ask a few things from you before our arrival. We would like to tell you how to prepare for your chimney maintenance appointment. We also want to help you understand the importance of annual professional chimney maintenance.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

man sweeping chimneyIf you want your chimney maintenance service appointment with us to go as smoothly as possible, we do have a few requests. Our CSIA-certified chimney sweeps need for your fireplace appliance to be nice and cool so we can do our job safely. We ask you to not use your fireplace for at least 24 hours before we arrive for your appointment.

As we set up to sweep your chimney, we want to make sure we leave your home as clean as we find it. We do this by laying down tarps and drop cloths around the hearth area. We do ask you to remove any breakables and other valuables from this area to keep them safe. You should also move any furniture, rugs, and items that are within a six-foot radius of your fireplace. We also ask that you block off the work area from your pets so they can stay clean and safe while we work.

WHY ANNUAL CHIMNEY MAINTENANCE IS SO IMPORTANT

The reason why the CSIA and other national fire safety organizations recommend that homeowners have their chimneys professionally swept and inspected every year is to avoid dangerous hazards such as chimney fires and carbon monoxide leaks. When All Seasons Chimney sweeps your chimney, we will ensure that every bit of creosote has been removed from the inner walls. Creosote is highly flammable, and the CSIA has named it a leading cause of chimney fires. Your safety is our top priority, and you can trust us to make sure your chimney is free of damage and problems.

Now is the best time to take care of your annual chimney maintenance. Contact us at All Seasons Chimney to schedule an appointment with one of our CSIA-certified chimney sweeps today!
